The lessor may refuse to renew the lease upon its expiration. The Commercial Code thus offers them the possibility to refuse the renewal of the lease without specifying reasons, with the sole obligation of paying the lessee an eviction indemnity to compensate for the damage caused by the lack of renewal (Article L. 145-14 Commercial Code).
