Criminal sanctions of the abuse of weakness were previously enacted within the same Article L. 122-8 of the Consumer Code. Recodification Ordinance No 2016-301 of 14 March 2016 dissociates the incrimination text (new Article L. 121-8) from the penalties (Articles L. 132-13 to L. 132-15).
