Article 5 of Law No 85-706 of 12 July 1985 on the advertising of firearms and their ammunition prohibits lotteries for these items, even free of charge. The text, however, reserves the case of competitions whose theme is hunting or shooting competitions. Any infringement of this provision is punishable by a fine of EUR 45,000.
