When the Competition Act 2002 was enacted there was no mention of any Competition Appellate Tribunal. It was only after the filing of the Brahm Dutt v. Union of India case that the Competition (Amendment) Act 2007 provided for the establishment of the Competition Appeals Tribunal, the CompAT.
