Article 651 of the Code of Civil Procedure defines service as the notification carried out by act of a judicial commissioner.
Under the terms of Article 653 of the Code of Civil Procedure, service may be effected on paper or electronically, since Decree No 2012-366 of 15 March 2012 , supplemented by the Order of 28 August 2012 , issued pursuant to the Law of 22 December 2010 .
