Any person registered in the Trade and Companies Register (Registre du commerce et des sociétés) or the Trade Register (Répertoire des métiers), as well as any individual entrepreneur with limited liability and any legal entity under private law, may join an approved risk management agency (groupement de prévention agréé) . These groups, approved by order of the State representative in the region, are constituted in any legal form that confers them legal personality . Their mission is to provide their members with a confidential analysis of economic, accounting and financial information, which the members undertake to transmit to them on a regular basis .

When they detect signs of difficulties, they inform the head of the company and may propose the intervention of an expert.

At the request of the State representative, the competent authorities provide assistance to approved risk management agencies. The services of the Banque de France may also be called upon to give advice on the financial situation of member companies, in accordance with the terms of the agreement. Approved risk management agencies may also receive assistance from local authorities.

Approved risk management agencies are authorized to enter into agreements with credit institutions, finance companies and insurance companies for the benefit of their members .
